Marvel and Disney?

Really? I think it was a smart move for Disney... but for the Marvel Shareholders to sell like that sucks. I think that's why it's kind of lame that Marvel was a publicly traded company in the first place.

I also have this feeling now Marvel Characters are going to be on lock down. Are we going to be seeing Spider-Man in the next Kingdom Hearts game now? Are the Characters going to have to follow strict designs now too. Like how every disney Character looks pretty much the same and hasn't changes it's look at all. Will the little guy be able to get a shot at or the dream of using their own style to draw Iron Man or War Machine? Are they also going to make the comics more like the "kid Friendly" Marvel Adventuers comics?

I have this feeling a LOT is going to change..... But I Guess we'll see what happens to the Legendary Characters from Marvel.

I was shocked too when I heard the news, but after talking about it at length with some co-workers, I don't think things will change that much. After all, Warner Brothers owns DC and we don't see Batman going "tweet tweet!"

But Warner was never known for "wholesome family entertainment" LOL

WB will do hard core action movies with sex/murder/drugs ya know fun stuff

The other thing is I'm not sure now if people who create character through Marvel will be able to keep them or if the Comic Legal defense fund will work anymore.

Like Artists were able to keep all of their original art and such, I just hope Disney won't take that away from the artists.

I read so many of this is ridiculous. ESPN, ABC and the Weinstein-less Miramax is owned by Disney. And they're fairly separate. They dont cross "breed" or use anything from the walt disney brand..only the disney name as a corporation. Also Warner Bros owns DC. Not to mention vertigo is part of DC and i dont think i ever saw a looney toons reference in watchmen or any other DC comic or movie.

Actually... I don't believe much will change at all, it might actually get better. I say this because the executives at Disney are some of the best businessmen in the world, I think they will anticipate the loss in fanbase if they change to many fundamentals of what make Marvel great.

Daffy duck was used for advertisements for the first Badman movie selling a warner brother ball cap. along with bugs bunny.

not to metion tiny toons and animaniacs used those characters, although as spoof in their stuff as well. WB does do it a lot although it is a bit more subital when it is in the mainstream cartoons.
